Staff:
Emanuela is in charge of the house and is responsible for everything including the pool and cleaning the house. She comes twice a week for a few hours on Tuesdays and Fridays in week 1 and Mondays and Thursdays in week 2. The weekly rate includes Emmanuela's pay but if you want to leave a tip it would be gratefully received.
If you would like a cook or a nanny this can probably be arranged but give as much warning as possible please.
Pool:
Emanuela deals with the pool chemicals and cleans the pool twice per week.. The switch for the lights inside the pool is located on the log at the bottom of the steps to the pool. The lights in the wall by the pool are switched on from the entrance hall of the house or on the wall at the bottom of the steps to the pool. Please ensure the large umbrellas are closed at night or when windy.
Tennis court
Please take your own racquet and balls. The track to the court starts to the right of the pool, through the olive grove and the woods.
Shopping
- Mercatale - Approximately 10 miles away. Good supermarket, butcher and baker and other basic shops. Banks are quicker than Umbertide. This is by far the best place to shop. Normal shopping hours are 8-12 and 4-8. Banks only 8.30-1.00 (Monday to Friday).
- Umbertide - You can find everything here and is approximately 20 minutes away. Market takes place on Wednesday a.m, and is cheaper and fun. Get there early! ie about 8.00am. There is an excellent large supermarket called CONRAD through Maggione on the road to Chiusi.
- Citta di Castello - 30 minutes away. A beautiful town with a market on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Laundry
All towels and sheets etc are provided and can be found in the cupboards in the two upstairs bathrooms. NB Please take your own pool towels.
Telephone
The house has a telephone which is metered. You will be charged for any usage.
Security
If the house is being left empty, ie shopping, please lock up all doors and close windows on the ground floor.
There is a safe for any valuables and you are advised to use it.
Golf
Ellera, just outside Perugia: A fun 9 hole course. Closed on Mondays. 40 minutes by car via Castel Rigone and Magione, where you take road uv75 bis (not a main road) towards Perugia. Turn right at SP Statz cli ellera and follow signs to Girailodi Golf Perugia.
On your departure
- Ensure all doors, windows and shutters are closed and locked.
- sign the visitors book
- Do not take books/CD's home that belong to the house.
- Leave the front door keys where you found them.
